If you came for an overnight stay Jacksonport State Park is a wonderful place to camp, obviously you could also go to Grassy Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit close by Bear Lake Slough since you're here at Newton Lake, and most likely you're looking for close       by lakes? Sure, Watson Lake is just a very short distance away. Summer at Newton Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Newton Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. A magnificent nearby hotel is Days Inn Newport; if you're here and you like golf, you can stop at Newport Country Club. Newton Lake is a rather wet place frequently                  with a good deal of rainfall; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest.
