The high level of rain makes Murphy Lake a rather wet place; the month with most of the rain is May while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Murphy Lake through the summertime months are in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Murphy Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Departee       Creek is next to Murphy Lake and is always a delight to check out, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Searcy. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Searcy, Ar is a great choice, and you can spend the day on the beach at Taylor Bay Beach. So many cool things to do in the Boston Mountains, not sufficient time. If you're here at Murphy Lake, checking out Big Eddy Bend is a must, and you're possibly into lakes, Bacon Lake is one of those close by.
