     Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Mound Lake, and Toltec Mounds is a peak you can distinguish from Mound Pond. Interesting geology is available here; Dooley Bend is in the vicinity of Mound Pond, and Whipporwill Trailer Park is a good local campground. High temperatures at Mound Pond throughout the warm months are in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of  
   the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Mound Pond. A glorious close by hotel is Little Rock North Red Roof Inn, and you don’t have to go far from Mound Pond to catch a glimpse of the water at Mound Lake Dam.
This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Little Rock Airport Travelodge is a perfect spot to spend a night or two, and enjoy a round of golf at Stonelinks Golf Course. The high level of rainfall makes Mound
 
               Pond a relatively wet site; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is August. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area in the neighborhood of Mound Pond has to offer. Not far from Mound Pond, you'll find Old River Lake which is a beautiful lake, and if you came for an overnight stay A and B Town and Country Mobile Home is a splendid location to camp.

Well I have fished faulkner lake for about a year and still have no clue on how to catch crappie. It's a clear lake with lots of grass fairly deep from what I have seen with alot of trees near the bank and off the bank so yo's must work well. I do have pictures but have not uploaded them yet................
