Montgomery Lake ordinarily gets a good deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Be careful coming to the Boston Mountains, you might not ever want to go back       home again. You can run the rapids of Cedar Creek - West Fork in close proximity to Montgomery Lake, and Montgomery Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Park Ridge RV Campground is a great place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Overland RV Park. The Boston Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Don't forget to take a good little spree to Foster Branch; lots of folks from Fort Smith come here. That right there                  is a load of exciting things already but it goes on, the Boston Mountains has it all. If the weather is wonderful here at Montgomery Lake, you can go for a hike along the Butterfield Hiking Trail, and Montgomery Lake Dam is a pretty site. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid spot for whitewater paddling near Montgomery Lake is Cedar Creek - East Fork, and Super 8 Motel - Van Buren/Ft. Smith Area is a pleasant place to get some rest. That right there is heaps already, but it keeps on going; Montgomery Lake has it all. While you're here at Montgomery Lake, you could also take a look at picturesque Lee Creek Reservoir, and since you're here and you like golf, you can stop at FT Smith Country Club. Through the warmest time of the year at Montgomery Lake highs are mostly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's.
