This lake is so wonderful. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Lower Hurricane Lake Dam, and some close by water includes Bens Branch. Lower Hurricane Lake is right by the Sulphur Trail, and don't leave Lower Hurricane Lake without first checking out Horn Bench. Lower Hurricane Lake is a pretty wet place regularly with a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls during May while January is frequently the driest month. People

Just can't get enough of the Boston Mountains. The top of Chinquapin Knob is easily observed from Lower Hurricane Lake, and there's splendid hiking along the Hideout Trail. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. A
tour to Buffalo National River is worthwhile, and the Pedestal Rocks Trail offers hiking at its best. Throughout the long summer days, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Lower Hurricane Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures
drop down into the 60's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lower Hurricane Lake. Lower Hurricane Lake is located in the Boston Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Sycamore Lake; close by Hurricane Hollow is a great spot to go. And that's not all there is to do here in the Boston Mountains. This is a great area for folks
who like lakes. Sycamore Lake is a lake around here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lower Hurricane Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lum's Mountain Guest Ranch.

Pedestal Rocks Trail
 | 12 miles away nice walk had a few trees down blocking the trail (jan ice storm) but a crew from ok was clearing the dead fall i thought it was neat to look thru the cracks in the rocks and see the drop of many feet to the ground... |
Alum Cove National Recreation Trail
 | 19 miles away 2 PHOTOS On the trail... The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009.
Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge. Very easy hike!... Some of my extended family and I went out over the weekend of 1/17/2009 for a birthday get-away for a nephew. We stayed in an awesome cabin.
