Why not visit a swamp like Brushy Brake if you're here at Long Lake; some interesting geology is available here, Dead Mule Bend is right here. It's a tremendous idea to explore Black River, it's near Long Lake, and Newport Country Club is a wonderful golf course close by.       You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Long Lake. A great close by hotel is Days Inn Newport, and if you've had enough of Long Lake, Gamble Lake is close by. A lot of precipitation falls at Long Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Long Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Batesville, of course you                  could also stop by Horseshoe Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. Summertime highs at Long Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's.
