This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Oxbow Lake, and camping is available at Hudsons Landing Campground. Long Lake mostly gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the warm months at Long Lake temperatures       are frequently in the 90's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 70's. Highs throughout the wintertime are mostly in the 50's, and overnight lows at Long Lake through the winter commonly dip into the 30's. Why not explore nearby La Grue Bayou since you're here at Long Lake, and a good spot to camp here at Long Lake is Scrubgrass Campground.
