He was employed by a contractor to work on the then future ''Thunderbird Lake''. I went to work with him one day and rode in a dump truck as he brought out load after load of rock and gravel. I think of that summer anytime I think of my father; it was a great summer for me and, dad, I miss you more than I can say. Get dripping wet paddling on Spring River, and a perfect place to pop by nearby is Stillhouse Hollow. This lake is so wonderful. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Boston Mountains. Stay the night at Many Islands Camp, and a journey to Lake Thunderbird wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dan Henry Spring. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Lake Thunderbird       has it all. Lake Thunderbird is a good place to visit for more than one day, Hardy Camper Park is a good place to camp nearby, and Days Inn Hardy is a good location to get some rest. The high level of rain makes Lake Thunderbird a reasonably wet place; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Lake Thunderbird Dam; paddling on Spring River - South Fork is                  so much fun. During the summer here at Lake Thunderbird, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Lake Thunderbird. This lake is one of the great places here in the Boston Mountains. If you need a location to stay Best Western Village Inn is a magnificent choice, and Lake Sequoyah is a great lake close by. That right there is lots of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Boston Mountains has it all. Take a side spree to Big Otter Creek. Lakes?
