Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Gutter Rock Creek, and Alma-Days Inn is a magnificent spot to get some rest. Lake Number Eight is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You just must like Lake Number Eight. Do go to       Hewitt Lake in close proximity to Lake Number Eight, it's a beautiful lake. Take a side visit to Caney Creek, and Six Mile Creek Watershed Site Eight Dam is delightful. A pleasant site to camp here at Lake Number Eight is Shores Lake Campground; why not take a refreshing hike along the Magazine Hiking Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Jack Creek, and if you need a place to stay Ozark Days Inn is a great choice.                  For the period of the months of summer highs here at Lake Number Eight reach the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's.
