After a long day outdoors TownePlace Suites Little Rock West is a perfect spot to spend a night or two, and paddling on Saline River - North Fork is so much fun. Summer at Lake Nixon comes with high temperatures in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lake Nixon. So much cool stuff to do       in the Ouachita Mountains, not sufficient time. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Rock Creek; Lake Nixon is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, N Little Rock Koa Kampground is a glorious location to camp nearby. The high level of precipitation makes Lake Nixon a quite wet place; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Hot Springs National Park is a magnificent                  local destination here at Lake Nixon. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great globe it would be. Take a little visit to Payne Branch while you're here at Lake Nixon, and Sands Mobile Home Park is a good local campground. This is a popular site for people from Little Rock-North Little Rock, of course you could also stop by Koban Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Lake Nixon Dam right next door to Lake Nixon; Western Hills Country Club is a golf course close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. This lake is so wonderful.
