Lake New Moon sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       Be careful coming to the Ouachita Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Lake New Moon is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Salem Pines Mobile Home Park is a fine spot to camp nearby, and there are other spots here than Lake New Moon, for example Inman Lake Number Two. Throughout the summer at Lake New Moon highs are usually in the 90's, and the overnight is a tad colder of course, ordinarily in the 60's. High temperatures through                  the wintertime are normally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Lake New Moon are in the 20's. A glorious spot for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Lake New Moon is Saline River - North Fork, and it's a tremendous idea to pop by Moore Branch. That right there is lots of entertaining stuff already but it goes on, the Ouachita Mountains has it all. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time.
