This lake is one of the great       places here in the Boston Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek; Alma Koa Kampground is a magnificent local campground. For the period of the summertime at Lake Fort Smith highs are mostly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Lake                  Fort Smith temperatures drop to the 20's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Lake Fort Smith. Get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Frog Bayou; dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Alma. This lake is so wonderful. This is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes. Lake Sheppard Spring Reservoir is a lake close at hand, and KOA Campgrounds is a delightful campground nearby. A great deal of precipitation falls at Lake Fort Smith; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January. Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Boston Mountains.
