This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Boston Mountains. Go for a hike on the Butterfield Hiking Trail, and if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a nice choice. Not far from Lake Fort Smith, you'll discover Lake Sheppard Spring Reservoir which is a pretty lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Clear Creek. There are some good whitewater spots on Frog Bayou, and as expected Campbell       Branch flows through this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lake Fort Smith that you need to camp here for a while, Alma Koa Kampground is a brilliant place for that, and Lake Fort Smith Dam is a charming site, undeniably worth stopping at. Lake Fort Smith is one of the lakes here in the Boston Mountains. And that's not everything you can do here in the Boston Mountains. If you came to camp KOA Campgrounds is a good                  place to do that, and Alma-Days Inn is a brilliant site to get some rest. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in close proximity to Lake Fort Smith has to offer. Don't leave Lake Fort Smith without first going for a hike along the Shores Lake Water Rock Spur; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Hammond Lake. During the summertime months at Lake Fort Smith highs are usually in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
