Camping at Brookhill Ranch is always a good experience; get wet paddling on Trace Creek. Yeah, come up here to the Ouachita Mountains for a great time. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Hot Springs Dam Number One, and camping is available at Gulpha Gorge Campground. So many enjoyable things close to Lake Desoto, clearly mind-blowing. A wonderful close by hotel       is Hot Springs Knights Inn, and after a long day outdoors Springs Hotel and Spa is a great spot to spend a night or two. Be careful coming to the Ouachita Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. Lake Desoto gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Coleman Creek is one of the                  streams close by that might be worth visiting; this is a popular location for people from Hot Springs. Paddling on Saline River - Middle Fork is so much fun; if you're looking for a great visit, Hot Springs National Park is pretty near. For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Lake Desoto get into the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's.
