Be careful coming to the Ouachita Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Saline River - Middle Fork; Hot Springs National Park is one of the destinations that are good to take a look at close by. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Gulpha Creek; while you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Hot Springs. This lake is so wonderful. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Coronado. Lake Lago is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Hot Springs Village is a fine place to get some rest. frequently gets a lot of rain; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Lake Coronado. When the night sets in temperatures sink
down into the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lake Coronado drop into the 20's.

Blakely Creek - North Fork

Most of the rapids are in the first half mile and a few more when you join up with the main fork of Blakely creek. De Roche creek nearby is a better run but this would make a good chaser or a good intro to creek paddleing.... |
