Lake Cherokee is located in the Boston Mountains. Camping is available at Many Islands Camp; hey, Big Otter Creek is a delightful local stream. Ray Hollow is next to Lake Cherokee and is a great site, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Spring River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more       enjoyable stuff to do here at Lake Cherokee. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Hardy is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Spring River. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Boston Mountains has to offer. This is a glorious area for people who like lakes. Lake Sherwood is a lake in the vicinity; a good site to camp here at Lake Cherokee is Hardy Camper Park. This                  lake is so wonderful. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Lake Cherokee Dam close to Lake Cherokee, and you're possibly into lakes, Lake Thunderbird is one of those close by. During the summer months at Lake Cherokee temperatures are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Lake Cherokee temperatures drop to the 10's. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Boston Mountains is unbeatable! A great close by hotel is Best Western Village Inn, and a trip to Lake Cherokee wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dan Henry Spring.
