Lake Chanute is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Boston Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Spring River - South Fork, and camping is available at Mammoth Spring Resort. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Boston Mountains will keep       you coming back repeatedly. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Spring River. It's always fine to pop by Roaring Springs, and if you came for an overnight stay Hardy Camper Park is a delightful site to camp. The Boston Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Lake Aztec in the neighborhood of Lake Chanute, it's a wonderful lake, and Right Prong Otter Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going                  to. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Chanute. If you need a place to stay Motor Center Motel is a splendid choice, and a great place nearby is Hubble Hollow. For the duration of the days of summer at Lake Chanute highs are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Chanute.
