A great location to camp here at Lake Barksdale is Caddo River Camping and Canoe Rentals. Camping is available at Hickory Nut Mountain Campground, and whitewater paddling is great on Caddo River. Barksdale Lake Dam is a site that is close to Lake Barksdale; after a long day outdoors Lux Corner Motel       is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Arkadelphia here, and a nice nearby hotel is Ouachita Mountain Inn. This lake is located in the wonderful Ouachita Mountains. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Lake Barksdale. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. All through the winter highs are generally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Barksdale temperatures                  plunge to the 20's.
