All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Barksdale a wet location; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and August is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Caddo River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and you can stay the night at DeGray Lake Resort State Park. During the summertime months here at Lake Barksdale, high temperatures mostly       get into the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Lake Barksdale throughout the winter usually descend into the 20's. Very splendid water scenery is available at Barksdale Lake Dam right next door to Lake Barksdale, and a nice nearby hotel is Quality Inn Arkadelphia. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Lake Barksdale really is in the middle                  of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Dwiggins Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and if you're stopping by from Arkadelphia, you won't be the only one. Yeah, come up here to the Ouachita Mountains for a fine time.
