Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Galla Creek, and a pleasant journey to Crane Island is a glorious way to spend an afternoon. Lake Abby is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Petit Jean State Park is a delightful local campground, and Lake Elsie is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Man, is there a heap of entertaining things to do in the vicinity       of Lake Abby. A quick spree to Galla Creek near Lake Abby is a magnificent idea, and Quality Inn Russellville is a wonderful location to get some rest. During the warmest time of the year at Lake Abby highs are ordinarily in the 90's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Lake Abby dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Camping at Bells Chapel Bait Shop                  and RV is always a glorious experience, and not far from Lake Abby you get some fine water scenery at Lake Abby Dam. A lake nearby is Lake Lucy, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Cedar Falls. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Cedar Creek offers some great whitewater.
