The beauty of Jackson Lake is reason enough to stop by. There are some great whitewater spots on Illinois River, and you can take a little trip to Jackson Lake Dam if you're here at Jackson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Big Elk Camp & Canoe Rentals, and a great close by hotel is Doubletree Guest Suites Bentonville/Rogers. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Ozarks. Kozy Kamp is a good campground nearby, and if you need a site to stay Suburban Extended Stay Bentonville is a great choice.  | I fish there a couple of times per week, only because it's very close to home, and there's nothing on the dam side (north) to see except tiny planes taking off and landing. There are no bathrooms, lots of dust, and really nothing here except a few tables and a plastic climbing toy for the children. Fishing is a 2 on a scale of 10.
