But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Boston Mountains. While you're here at Harris Pond you can take a hike along the Boston Cutoff. Having a pleasant time at Harris Pond is easy. The wonderful people of Russellville like to hang out close by, and a great place to camp here at Harris Pond is Mount Nebo State Park. Having a fine time in the Boston Mountains is trouble-free. There's some exciting stuff       to see at Harris Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Harris Pond, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Grassy Point Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Boston Mountains. All the water falling down from the sky makes Harris Pond a wet site; May is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Inn Clarksville, and whitewater paddling                  is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Little Piney Creek. After a long day outdoors Best Western Sherwood Motor Inn is a great site to spend a night or two; camping at Dad's Dream RV Park is always a pleasant experience. There's whitewater on Illinois Bayou - East Fork for all you thrill seekers, and do take a hike on the Peggy Steep Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Harris Pond, and the overnight is fairly chillier of course, typically in the 60's.
