Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Dierks Lake dip into the 20's. After a long day outdoors Western Plaza Inn is a brilliant site to spend a night or two; naturally Little Holly Creek is a pretty stream that is worth a visit. The high level       of rainfall makes Dierks Lake a pretty wet place; the month with most of the rain is May while January is usually the driest month. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Camping at Daisy State Park is always a glorious experience. Dierks Lake is a beautiful lake in the Ouachita Mountains. You'll stumble on a charming lake called Barnes Lake near Dierks Lake, and going for a hike on the Gypsum Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake                  is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Kizzia Trail; there are some nice whitewater spots on Little Missouri River. That right there is a load of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Ouachita Mountains has it all.
