Desoto Lake is one of the lakes here in the Ouachita Mountains. A great deal of rain falls at Desoto Lake; all through May this area sees the most rain while January is typically the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff close to Desoto Lake. During your tour to Desoto Lake you'll meet some people from Hot Springs for sure, and Hot Springs RV Park is a good local       campground. On a wonderful day you obtain a panorama of Hot Springs Mountain from Desoto Lake, and Ricks Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. Springs Hotel and Spa is a splendid spot to get some rest, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Saline River - Middle Fork. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Ouachita Mountains. If you're here at Desoto Lake and you like golf, you can visit Magic Hills Public Golf Course, and                  a lake nearby is Ricks Pond. If you need a place to stay Embassy Suites Hotel Hot Springs, Ar is a tremendous choice, and Gulpha Creek has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Hot Springs National Park is a wonderful national park, and the scenery at Desoto Park Dam is beautiful. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Ouachita Mountains. A great place to take a look at right next door to Desoto Lake is The Gorge, and Big Chalybeate Spring is a striking site to take a look at while you're at Desoto Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Gulpha Gorge Campground is a great spot to camp. The warmest time of the year at Desoto Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 60's.
