This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. There are some great whitewater spots on Ouachita River; Comfort Inn Malvern is a great spot to get some rest. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Ouachita Mountains. All year is a great time in the Ouachita       Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Not far from Dawson Lake, you'll hit upon Barr Lake which is a charming lake; if you come at the right time of year, Saline River - Alum Fork offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here than Dawson Lake, for example Pathway Youth Camp Lake, and a journey to Hot Springs National Park is worthwhile. Summertime at Dawson Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and during the night it                  cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Dawson Lake are in the 20's. Do take a look at Dawson Lake Dam since you're here at Dawson Lake. There's so much to do here at Dawson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, J B's RV Park and Campground is a great place for that. Dawson Lake gets a good deal of water; May is the wettest month with most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
