Throughout the months of summer at Cold Spring Lake highs are frequently in the 90's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets       highs in the 40's with temperatures at Cold Spring Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the Boston Mountains has to offer. Going for a hike on the Butterfield Hiking Trail is always a great adventure, and Chinkapin Knob can be made out from Cold Spring Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Cold Spring Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls through May, and the driest month of the year is January. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Fall Creek; camping at Devil's Den State Park is always a delightful experience. This lake is one of the great places here in the Boston Mountains. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Boston Mountains rocks!
