Choctaw Lake is one of the lakes here in the Boston Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Little Red River - Archey's Fork offers some glorious whitewater; you can stay the night at Cadron Creek Outfitters. Having a wonderful time in the Boston Mountains is uncomplicated. You get a magnificent sight of Cullum Mountain from Choctaw Lake, and after a long day outdoors The Sycamore is a delightful place to spend       a night or two. An out of the ordinary thing to visit in close proximity to Choctaw Lake is Choctaw Lake Dam; Super 8 Motel - Clinton is a nice site to get some rest. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Little Red River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course near Choctaw Lake is Red River Golf Club, and Choctaw Lake is a perfect spot to visit for more than one day, Whispering Pines                  Trailer Park is a perfect spot to camp nearby. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Choctaw Lake highs are generally in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Choctaw Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's.
