A good nearby hotel is Escapes to Hot Springs Village. Big Fish Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and January on the other hand is the driest. That right there is loads of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Ouachita Mountains has it all. There's so much to do here at Big Fish Pond that you need to camp       here for a while, Coffee Creek Landing and Motel is a perfect place for that; do explore Big Fish Pond Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. South Fouche Site Six Reservoir is a splendid lake next to Big Fish Pond, and if you came to camp Petit Jean State Park is a brilliant place to do that. Drift down the rapids of South Fourche LaFave in a kayak, and Lee Shoals is in the neighborhood, and is a great place. There are other sites here than                  Big Fish Pond, for example Rock Creek Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Cedar Creek offers some glorious whitewater. Throughout the summer months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Big Fish Pond, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and night lows at Big Fish Pond through the winter commonly dip into the 20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ouachita Mountains. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Big Fish Pond has it all.
