Beautiful Beaver Lodge Lake has much to offer visitors. All the water falling down from the sky makes Beaver Lodge Lake a wet location; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest month of the year is January. A striking lake like North Pond next to Beaver Lodge Lake is a perfect place to go to, and get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Broadwater Hollow. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is lovely, you get a wonderful sight of Gaither
Mountain from Beaver Lodge Lake, and there's some flowing water close by, East Fork Terrapin Creek is a stream you can stop at during your stay.
But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Beaver Lodge Lake. You don’t have to go far from Beaver Lodge Lake to spot the water at Beaver Lodge Lake Dam. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Ozarks. A nice spot for whitewater paddling right next door to Beaver Lodge Lake is Buffalo River, and

why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Harrison Country Club. The Ozarks scenery is always beautiful.
After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Harrison is a perfect spot to spend a night or two, and Parkway Travel Park is a great local campground. At Beaver Lodge Lake through the summer months highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Beaver Lodge Lake dip into the 20's. While you're here at Beaver Lodge Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Harrison, and if you're here you have to stop by Jones Point.
This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Alum Cove National Recreation Trail, and nearby Dowell Cove is a perfect place to go. This place, Beaver Lodge Lake, it truly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not stop by Edwards Lake in the neighborhood of Beaver Lodge Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Parkers RV Park is a perfect site to camp. All year is a glorious time in the Ozarks if you adore the outdoors. A tour to Buffalo National River is recommended; if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Harrison, Ar is a nice choice.

Buffalo River

This run was the first run I had ever done in a Kayak. I was a little scetchy at first but later realized that a kayak is 100% more safe than a canoe and quite a bit more versitile as well. By the end of the run I was trying to find the fastest spots and hiking the better rapids more than once to hit again. Now with more rivers and expierience under my paddle. I would still do this run again with friends for a enjoyable float with a few moderate rapids that can be challenging for the unprepared. If you plan to take those not real comfortable in a kayak on a river, this would be a great start for them. Not for seeking heavy whitewater. Scenery is A+++, its reputation speaks for itself. If those seeking a little more rapids and a little faster gradient start at Boxley instead of Ponca to plan your Buffalo trip....

On the trail...
The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009.

Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge. Very easy hike!...

Some of my extended family and I went out over the weekend of 1/17/2009 for a birthday get-away for a nephew. We stayed in an awesome cabin. Here is one picture we took while hiking the Alum Cove Trail. (error while uploading picture)...
