There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jacksonport State Park is a tremendous site for that. Don't miss out on a good swamp; Duck Roost Slough is right here at Bear Lake, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Newport is a good choice. Bear Lake is a reasonably wet place usually with a great deal of precipitation; through May this area sees the most rain; January is the       month with the least moisture. Village Creek Golf Club is a brilliant golf course nearby, and you'll come across a scenic lake called Beaver Dam Lake. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Bear Lake. Take a side spree to Deadman Slough. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Spradlin Lake right next door to Bear Lake, it's a gorgeous lake, and you must without doubt visit Baines Bend while here. During the warm months highs here at Bear Lake                  get into the 90's, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, typically in the 60's.
