This lake is so wonderful. Pocahontas Days Inn & Suites is a great site to get some rest, and do visit Dishpan Lake, it's a delightful lake. A scenic lake like Baltz Lake close to Bates Lake is a great site to check out, and why not camp at Old Davidsonville State Park since you're here at Bates Lake. The scenery at Bates Lake Dam near Bates Lake is striking; if you came for an overnight stay Lake Charles State Park       is a magnificent place to camp. Take a side trip to Hamil Creek, and after a long day outdoors Doniphan - Days Inn is a pleasant site to spend a night or two. During the warm months, highs usually are in the 90's at Bates Lake. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's, and nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Bates Lake tend to be in the 10's.
