During the warm days of summer at Woods Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Woods Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Marshall McCay Lake Dam is not far at all from Woods Lake, and Good Hope Campground is a perfect local       campground. This lake is so wonderful. Cox Creek is a nice local stream, and why not camp at Country View RV Park since you're here at Woods Lake. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mulberry Fork; after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn and Suites Gardendale is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. Woods Lake is a reasonably wet place generally with a large amount of rain; March is when you get the most rain here;                  the driest month is October. Mill Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Woods Lake; while you're here and you like golf, you can stop at Plantation Golf Club.
