There are some perfect whitewater spots on Hatchet Creek;       a stunning lake like B G Powell Lake is a great place to visit. All the water falling down from the sky makes Whits Lake a wet site; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is October. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Coosa River, and camping is available at Leisure Isle. Whetstone Dam is a site that is right next door to Whits Lake; after a long day outdoors Key West Inn Wetumpka is a good location to spend a                  night or two. Any time is a good time at Whits Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors.
