     If you came to camp Country View RV Park is a good place to do that, and you need to visit Blackwood Bend while you're here. Whitmire Ponds is a pretty wet place commonly with much rainfall; most of the rain falls through March, and October meanwhile is the driest month. This place is great, just check out all the cool stuff to do in close proximity to Whitmire Ponds. You can take a little spree to Whitmire Lake Dam if you're here at Whitmire Ponds; get wet  
   paddling on Warrior River - Locust Fork. If the weather is lovely, you get a wonderful panorama of Browns Mountain from Whitmire Ponds.
This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Hanceville is a tremendous place to get some rest; there are other spots here than Whitmire Ponds, for example Hazerig Upper Pond. Summertime highs at Whitmire Ponds regularly tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the
 
               40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Whitmire Ponds. Andy Branch flows through this vicinity; an afternoon playing golf at Plantation Golf Club is always a joy.
If you need a place to stay Best Western Colonial Inn is a perfect choice, and Hazerig Pond is a nice lake nearby.

Lake Catoma

The crappie didn't corporate so we started bass fishing.  Caught several spots and one largemouth.  Total for the day was 23 spots one largemouth and one crappie that we kept.  The bass were caught off a white spinnerbait with a chartreuse pork trailer and gold willow leaf.  The crappie was caught off a white panfish assassin.  The wind blew us all over the lake and the temp was dropping.  Cold front must have pushed the crappie back to deeper water.  Surface temp was 58.  April 14th 2009...I fished Catoma today and didn't catch a single fish (of any species)  Mainly targeted those crappie everybody has been catching, but they must have had a case of lock jaw.  After about three hours of nothing I called it a day....
