Summertime at West Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at West Lake fall into the 20's. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! West       Lake is excellent! After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Inn - Collinsville is a pleasant place to spend a night or two, and Dugout Valley is a perfect place to spend some time. You'll meet a lot of people from Gadsden here, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Johnnies Creek. A short trip to Griffin Falls is always worthwhile; it's a good idea to stop by Little Wills Creek. Pine Cone Marina is a fine local campground; get drenched paddling on Kirby                  Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Leesburg Resorts if you're here at West Lake; there are other sites here than West Lake, for example Mountain View Lake. A lot of rain falls at West Lake; the wettest month of the year is frequently March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful.
