Sure, Donner Lake is just a very short distance away. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Gadsden is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. Why not check out Nunally Dam while you're here, and a wonderful place for whitewater paddling is Line Creek. A great nearby hotel       is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GADSDEN. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Welikee Lake has to offer, you can camp at Willow Point Campground Center. Visit Havers Creek since you're here at Welikee Lake, obviously you could also stop at Thrasher Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. At Welikee Lake throughout the months of summer highs are in the 80's; the night is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 60's. Through the winter                  highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Welikee Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. All the water falling down from the sky makes Welikee Lake a wet place; during March this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is October.
