Lake George Dam is a place that is next to Wanderland Lake, and you can stay the night at Holiday Travel Park. A round of golf at nearby Trussville Country Club is a perfect way to kill some time, and Talladega Hill is uncomplicated to spot from Wanderland Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Cahaba River offers some brilliant whitewater. Wanderland Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; October on the other hand is the driest. So much amusing stuff to do here at Wanderland Lake, too brilliant to be true. If you need a site to stay Courtyard Birmingham Trussville is a splendid choice, and the smiling people of Birmingham-Hoover like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Queenstown | |

Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn Leeds/Birmingham. While you're here at Wanderland Lake, you could also pop by pretty Lake George, and don't forget to take a brilliant
little spree to O'Bar Branch. High temperatures at Wanderland Lake all through the summertime months are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows at Wanderland Lake all through the wintertime usually descend into the 30's.

 | ...oot falls followed by a run produced by the current. And one was just a long series of wide wave trains. I did enjoy the rapids but even a novice paddler with a few trips under their belt could handle this section. The only bad part was the long flats inbetween the rapids. I was lucky in that I timed my trip two days after a heavy rain so the current was nice and steady. If not for that I would have been exhausted from paddling across the flats. Luckily the scenery is good and there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The put in at Lovic bridge is tricky. Its a pretty steep grade and full of mud and sand. I ended up just getting in my canoe and slidding down the hill into the water. Thats a good way to flip so take a friend and you could rope your boat down much easier. The take out at Grants Mill is alot nicer. It has a nice gravel parking lot and a concrete ramp down to the river with a concrete docking pad in the water. You NEED to go look at the take out before you go on your trip though. The take out is nice but its positioned weirdly. You come down river to it after your last rapid... |
