A good spot to take a look at in the neighborhood                  of Tidwell Pond is Lower Sand Valley; a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Chitwood Creek. You truly must like Tidwell Pond. Warrior River - Calvert Prong of the Locust Fork is a great whitewater spot close to Tidwell Pond. There's so much to do here at Tidwell Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Alabama WMU Camp is a fine place for that. This lake is so wonderful.
