Steiner Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Payne Lake Westside Campground is a splendid local campground. During the long summer days at Steiner Lake temperatures are typically in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 70's. During the winter highs are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Steiner Lake are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.       There is a tremendous hiking trail in the vicinity of Steiner Lake called the Payne Lake Nature Trail. There's so much to do here at Steiner Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lakeside RV Park is a good site for that. A tremendous close by hotel is Howard Johnson Inn Tuscaloosa Al; you'll meet a lot of people from Tuscaloosa here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Steiner Lake a wet place; most of the rain falls all through March; October                  on the other hand is the driest.
