Merriweather Lake is a lake around here, and Sorrell Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Leisure Isle is a pleasant local campground. The high level of rainfall makes Sorrell Lake a relatively wet spot; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain; October is when it's the driest. Through the warm months at Sorrell Lake highs are generally in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows descend       down to the 70's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for Sorrell Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Shirley Lake, and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn & Suites East Chase is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Tallapoosa River for all you thrill seekers, and if you came                  to camp Capital City RV Park is a tremendous spot to do that. W J Sorrell Dam has wonderful water scenery and it's near Sorrell Lake, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Scottish Inns Pike Road.
