Not far from Skinner Lake, you'll find Browns Ponds which is a beautiful lake, and if you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Montgomery. The high level of precipitation makes Skinner Lake a reasonably wet place; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here; October on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful.       Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Cauthen Pond; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Montgomery is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Mead Dam has good water scenery and it's right next door to Skinner Lake; Sugar Ridge Campground is a pleasant local campground. Through the warm months highs here at Skinner Lake reach the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the                  wintertime highs are usually in the 50's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Skinner Lake temperatures sink to the 30's.
