     Weogufka Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot right next door to Shelton Barkley Lake, and Days Inn Clanton, AL is a great place to get some rest. Summertime highs at Shelton Barkley Lake mostly tend to be in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Through the winter highs are generally in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Shelton Barkley Lake sink into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.  
   Lakes are fine; T J Stewart Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Shelton Barkley Lake, and Shelton Barkley Lake is a nice location to visit for more than one day, Horse Stomp Campground is a nice location to camp nearby. A delightful close by hotel is Key West Inn Clanton, and there's always Shelton Barkley Lake Dam to have a look at next to Shelton Barkley Lake.

               Creek, and as expected Dry Creek flows through this neighborhood. Shelton Barkley Lake truly is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Woodward Lake, and you can stay the night at Peach Queen Campgrounds.
The high level of precipitation makes Shelton Barkley Lake a rather wet location; March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

I am planning a trip to Weogufka Creek in a couple of weeks. Any info. regarding trees down or other obstructions would be helpful. We will do County Rd. 15 to Low Water Bridge only....Put in at coosa county management 119 and get out at the bridge is a good short trip with lots of sights......
