This lake is so wonderful. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great earth it would be. You can run the rapids of Yellowleaf Creek - North Fork near Salter Lake; Timberline Golf Club is a magnificent golf course close by. Nazarene Church Lake is a brilliant lake right next door to Salter       Lake; Hampton Inn Calera is a splendid place to get some rest. A short visit to Simpson Spring is always worthwhile, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express CALERA-I-65 EXIT 231. For the duration of the summer months at Salter Lake highs are frequently in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's; through the dark hours in the winter at Salter Lake temperatures drop to the 30's. Six Mile                  Bend is a fine whitewater spot next to Salter Lake, and Cherokee Beach Camping and Trade is a great local campground. The high level of precipitation makes Salter Lake a reasonably wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is October. This lake is so wonderful.
