Wind Creek State Park is a great local campground, and a quick visit to Blackman Creek is unquestionably a great idea. During the months of summer here at Russell Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Russell Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Russell Pond a wet spot; March
is the month that gets the most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. If you come at the right time of year, Hatchet Creek offers some perfect whitewater.
This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Moose Lodge Pond, and if you need a site to stay Jameson Inn Alexander City is a good choice. Just can't get enough of Russell Pond. An afternoon playing golf at Willow Point Golf and Country Club is always a bliss; if you get bored of Russell Pond

you could also take a look at nearby Walls Lake. Very magnificent water scenery is available at Russell Mills Dam right next door to Russell Pond, and soar down the rapids of Elkahatchee Creek in a kayak.
Whispering Springs Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and a good nearby hotel is Best Western Horseshoe Inn.
