Do visit Rice Dam while you're here at Rice Lake, and camping at Spillway Campground is always a delightful experience. At Rice Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 90's while night lows are commonly in the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 50's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Rice Lake drop into the 30's. Good hiking is available along the Payne Lake Nature Trail, and Rice Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Payne Lake Eastside Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Rice Lake, for example Wilbourne Lake, and if you need a place to stay Windwood Inn Brent/Centerville is a brilliant choice. Lakes?
