Poundstone Lake is a location with many visitors from Montgomery, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MONTGOMERY BOYD-COOPER PKWY is a great place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Tallapoosa River, and you can stay the night at Capital       City RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. At Poundstone Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Poundstone Lake are in the 30's. Poundstone Dam is gorgeous and it's close to Poundstone Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Froggy Bottom Pond. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff                  in one place! Poundstone Lake is excellent! A round of golf at nearby River Run Public Golf Course is a good way to kill some time, and Leisure Isle is a nice campground nearby. Poundstone Lake generally gets a great deal of rain; throughout March this area sees the most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. There are some great whitewater spots on Coosa River, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a tremendous choice.   Comfort Inn & Suites, Montgomery 4 miles away Conveniently located in the Business District, near to I-85.
