There's so much to do here at Murphy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chewacla State Park is a good location for that. For the period of the summertime at Murphy Lake highs are commonly in the 90's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Murphy Lake       temperatures fall to the 30's. Here at Murphy Lake there are plenty of people from Auburn-Opelika, and if you've had enough of Murphy Lake, Bruce Pond Number Two is close by. Murphy Lake mostly gets lots of rainfall; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is typically the driest month. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. If you need a location to stay Hampton Inn Suites Opelika I85 Auburn Area is a fine choice; if you                  came to camp Baker's Trailer Park and Campground is a fine site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Auburn/Opelika, and paddling on Sougahatchee Creek is so much fun.
