If you like lakes and you're in this part of Alabama you can check out Morgan Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Morgan Lake a quite wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. A short journey to Clark Spring is always worthwhile, and float down the rapids of Flint Creek - East Fork in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. On a nice day you can have a look at Crabtree Slough, a swamp near Morgan Lake, and not far from Morgan Lake you'll locate English Pond which is a wonderful lake. If you need a site to stay La Quinta Inn Decatur is a glorious choice, and paddling on Mill Creek is so much fun. Cedar Mountain is clearly visible from Morgan Lake, and Morgan Lake is not far at all from Decatur.

nights. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Morgan Lake. Morgan Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Point Mallard Campground is a magnificent local campground; dry warm beds await you at Ramada Limited Decatur.
