     Dry warm beds await you at Americas Best Value Inn Leeds/Birmingham; you're in all probability keen on lakes, Crystal Lake is one of those nearby. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mirror Lakes a wet place; most of the rain falls throughout March, and the driest month is October. So many fun things close to Mirror Lakes, absolutely mind-blowing. If you need a place to stay Days Inn Leeds is a glorious choice, and camping is available at Coosa River  
   Camp Retreat Alabama. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby Lowry Gap is a perfect spot to go if you're at Mirror Lakes, and camping at Holiday Travel Park is always a brilliant experience.
If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cahaba River; folks from Birmingham-Hoover love to come here. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Mirror Lakes reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the
 
               winter this place gets highs in the 50's while Mirror Lakes night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. Spouting Spring Branch is a fine spot to pop by.
Very perfect water scenery is available at Lake Wehapa Dam close to Mirror Lakes, and if you've had enough of Mirror Lakes, Little Deer Lakes is nearby.

...ler with a few trips under their belt could handle this section. The only bad part was the long flats inbetween the rapids. I was lucky in that I timed my trip two days after a heavy rain so the current was nice and steady. If not for that I would have been exhausted from paddling across the flats. Luckily the scenery is good and there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The put in at Lovic bridge is tricky. Its a pretty steep grade and full of mud and sand. I ended up just getting in my canoe and slidding down the hill into the water. Thats a good way to flip so take a friend and you could rope your boat down much easier. The take out at Grants Mill is alot nicer. It has a nice gravel parking lot and a concrete ramp down to the river with a concrete docking pad in the water. You NEED to go look at the take out before you go on your trip though. The take out is nice but its positioned weirdly. You come down river to it after your last rapid and if the water is up or moving along well then you really have to back paddle to make the docking pad. Just stopped here on our way north from the Florida panhandle.? Great stopover spot, extemely convenient to I-65.? Clean, neat campground, great bathrooms and showers, friendly, well-informed staff, and the area has all the basics travelers like us are interested in---food, shopping, RV stores, food, food, etc.? I know this would also be a nice spot for a longer stay....
