     Merriweather Lake is right next door to Lee Merriweather Dam which is a delightful place undeniably worth stopping at, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Sorrell Lake. This place, Merriweather Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors fun stuff. Lots of people from Montgomery come to Merriweather Lake, and you can stay the night at Leisure Isle. This lake is so wonderful. Capital City RV Park is a glorious campground nearby,  
   and if you need a place to stay Sleep Inn & Suites East Chase is a pleasant choice.
Through the months of summer highs here at Merriweather Lake get into the 90's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 70's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Merriweather Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. Not far from Merriweather Lake, you'll discover Shirley Lake which is a scenic lake; whitewater
 
               paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Stone Creek. Merriweather Lake gets much water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
If you come at the right time of year, Tallapoosa River offers some splendid whitewater, and dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Pike Road.
