     If you need a spot to stay Value Place Bessemer is a great choice; Six Mile Bend is a great whitewater spot nearby. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! McKnight Lake rules! You don’t have to go far from McKnight Lake to see the water at McKnight Lake Dam, and do stop by Robinson Lake, it's a scenic lake. Why not camp at Tannehill Historical State Park since you're here at McKnight Lake; a pretty lake like Brimwood Lakes is a brilliant place to stop  
   at. McKnight Lake generally gets a lot of precipitation; March is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is October.
Visit Camp Creek while you're here at McKnight Lake, and Mc Calla Koa Kampground is a fine local campground. For the period of the long summer days at McKnight Lake temperatures are commonly in the 90's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, generally in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's,
 
               and overnight lows all through the winter for McKnight Lake tend to be in the 30's.
This lake is so wonderful. A delightful nearby hotel is Best Western Hotel & Suites, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Tannehill National Golf Course.

This lake has been around for a long time. Years ago, before the I-20/59 interstate was built, it was indeed a great place to fish as I understand it. Now the lake is full of vegetation and difficult to fish or navigate a boat. Also difficult to enter and launch a boat as the roads leading in are washed out and muddy....

Just stopped here on our way north from the Florida panhandle.? Great stopover spot, extemely convenient to I-65.? Clean, neat campground, great bathrooms and showers, friendly, well-informed staff, and the area has all the basics travelers like us are interested in---food, shopping, RV stores, food, food, etc.? I know this would also be a nice spot for a longer stay....
