     Best Western Colonial Inn is a brilliant location to get some rest, and you'll hit upon a lovely lake called Hazerig Small Pond. A great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Hanceville; there are plenty of people from Cullman here. Marsh Pond gets a lot of water; March is when you get the most rain here; October on the other hand is the driest. You definitely ought to go for Marsh Pond. Good Hope Campground is a wonderful campground nearby; let's not forget Big Scirum  
   Creek which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay.
Paddling on Warrior River - Locust Fork is so much fun, and while you're here you can play some golf at Plantation Golf Club. During the summertime at Marsh Pond highs are typically in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Marsh Pond. If you came for an overnight
 
               stay Country View RV Park is a great spot to camp.
This lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Hazerig Farm Lake near Marsh Pond, it's a wonderful lake, and don't leave Marsh Pond without first checking out Scirum Bluff.

The crappie didn't corporate so we started bass fishing.  Caught several spots and one largemouth.  Total for the day was 23 spots one largemouth and one crappie that we kept.  The bass were caught off a white spinnerbait with a chartreuse pork trailer and gold willow leaf.  The crappie was caught off a white panfish assassin.  The wind blew us all over the lake and the temp was dropping.  Cold front must have pushed the crappie back to deeper water.  Surface temp was 58.  April 14th 2009...I fished Catoma today and didn't catch a single fish (of any species)  Mainly targeted those crappie everybody has been catching, but they must have had a case of lock jaw.  After about three hours of nothing I called it a day....
